Public Relations specific duties:
- Creating media alerts, press release and newsletters.
- Create and maintain clipping file.
- Contacting and building relationships with reporters and local media outlets.
- Assist Program Coordinators in networking with major business leaders.
- Preparing proposals and write backs.
- Frequent proofreading and editing.
- Energetic, enthusiactic, and the desire to learn more about non-profits.
- Multi-tasking capabilities.
- Proficient in Excel & Word.
- Knowledge of Internet and market research techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sensitivity to those living with a disability.
- Available to work 6-10 hours per week, during normal business hours.
- Researching target markets and identifying decision makers.
- Making initial sales calls to local and out of town business for lin-kind donations.
- Creating and mailing solicitation letters.
- Assisting MDA staff at fundraising events.
- Keeping accurate record through the management of excel spreadsheets.
- Provide regular updates of goals including which have met.
- Be able to handle basic inqueries concerning the organization and the services we provide.
