PR Manager Brazil and Latin America

The PR Manager, Brazil and Latin America will support Thomson Reuters Markets businesses in the region, with responsibility for leading the development and implementation of a regional PR strategy. Responsibilities will include promoting and protecting the company's brand image and reputation, collaborating with corporate colleagues, and driving proactive communication initiatives that support our management and functional goals. The role crosses the whole of Thomson Reuters Markets businesses in Latin America-Sales & Trading, Investment & Advisory, Enterprise, and Media & Editorial-with a primary focus on Brazil.

The candidate's key stakeholders will include top tier, trade and online publications in Latin America, internal senior management and key influencers in the media and financial industries. He or she will be responsible for media relations (broadcast, print and online), event planning, speaking engagements & positioning, writing, translating and distributing press releases, tracking and measurement of results, media attribution and crisis communications. Additionally, the candidate will identify and proactively promote the businesses' key themes, initiatives and senior executives in region and globally.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the global PR leadership team to manage varying projects and provide input and support wherever the businesses warrant. The candidate will need to be able to think proactively and quickly and collaborate effectively and possess the gravitas and finesse to advise clients on communications strategies and initiatives, including those that may be perceived as unpopular, coach on media techniques/initiatives, and ultimately be considered a valued extended team member of the regional and wider business teams. S/he will also build a healthy attribution franchise on leading content sets as well as capitalize on trends in the region to position Thomson Reuters as a thought leader.

At least 10 years PR experience gained within an agency or in-house PR role; financial, media or technology background preferred;

A degree in finance/economics, journalism or PR preferred;

A strong knowledge of the financial industry, where possible in areas like equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, asset management and risk management; and relationships with reporters and industry influencers in Latin America;

Proven record in delivering measurable PR results across print, online and broadcast
